Major upgrade work this May

24 to 26 May and 24 May to 1 June 2025

This Spring bank holiday weekend (Saturday 24 May to Monday 26 May), Network Rail will be carrying out planned engineering work across the West Coast Main Line. There will be a reduced timetable and longer journey times on our routes throughout the whole bank holiday weekend. This, combined with the many great events happening across the network, may mean that our trains are busier than usual this bank holiday weekend.

Upgrade work is also taking place between Rugby and Stafford from Saturday 24 May to Sunday 1 June, meaning a reduced timetable during this period.

Whether you’re travelling for Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Birmingham Pride or Neighbourhood Weekender, celebrating at Liverpool’s Victory Parade, or having another spring adventure this bank holiday weekend, make sure you check before you travel as some journeys may take longer.
